Deceptive.... I should have researched better before purchasing LDS propaganda. The story smacks of lies even before the halfway through “reveal” of Mormonism, not Orthodox Biblical Christianity. What is true is that this guy traded one religion of performance (Islam) for another. (Mormonism) it was the frying pan into the fire.True Christianity is God rescuing only those He chooses from their hopeless situation with unmerited kindness through Jesus shed blood. He lived the life through Jesus that we should have lived but were incapable. This Jesus, the preexistent simultaneous God/man , died the death we should have died in our place, and reconciled us to God the Father.Run away from this book. There is no truth nor answers to be found here. It’s clumsily written and concocted to boot.

"My Name Used to Be Muhammad" is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. I finished it just moments ago, and the book has changed my life.In many ways, Tito's story is terribly tragic. He is disowned by his family, he loses the love of his life, he is repeatedly beaten and mocked, and he suffers fifteen years in prison for his beliefs before finally being released in 2006 for medical reasons--particularly diabetes, stroke, and heart problems. But at the same time, Tito's story is one of glorious redemption. Through all of his trials, Tito finds the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is a greater gift than all of the wealth in the world.Tito's experiences bring to my mind the words of the Lord to Joseph Smith while in Liberty Jail: "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes" (D&C 121:7-8). Tito's life is a reminder to me that no matter how dark life may seem to be, Christ will never forsake us. He will ALWAYS be there. One note: In the book, Tito does not mince words in his descriptions of abuse, drug and alcohol use, sexuality, and harsh prison life. Some of his descriptions are graphic and are obviously not meant for children. However, for adults of all Christian faiths, I offer my highest recommendation for "My Name Used to Be Muhammad". Download it. Read it. And change your life because of it. You won't regret it.

I could hardly put the book down! It was not only an inspirational story but an interesting peek at Islam in different parts of the world. It showed the differences between Nigerian, Syrian, and Egyptian sects (even though they were all Sunni) in how they practiced and also the power of perception and your mind in making the best of any given situation. Well worth the read.

A very fascinating story of a man who was raised in a very orthodox from of Islam in a small village in the northern part of Nigeria. I was introduced to a family life that made me glad to be raised in a different culture. Families did not eat together, men we forbidden from entering the kitchen. A woman was not supposed to leave her home, or uncover head at any time even in the home. Muhammad was supposed to become a leading Cleric in his country. When he goes away to school in Damascus his world changes, he sees Muslims who are not as orthodox in their faith as he was raised. His experience at the school changes his life. he and a few friends accidently eat a bit of Food during fasting period of Ramadan. They are called infidels, his friends are beaten and when the head master comes to beat him, Muhammad strikes the man first and knocks him to the floor. He eventfully transfers to a university in Cairo to continue his clerical studies. He loses his interest in Clerical studies and makes some moral mistakes and starts drinking and becomes a DJ at a night club. After many months he visits a friend who he discovers no longer drinks or smokes. He asks why. His friend introduces him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Mormon Church. His life changes when he converts to Christianity and is sent to prison for being a Christian. The charges used against him is that he was smuggling drugs. He discovers this charge is often used to send Christians to prison. Would we convert to Christianity if we knew our life could end at any moment when a family member could kill you as part of an honor killing. He spends 15 years in prison for converting to Christianity. A great story and one shows us a man who discovers Christ and learns what forgiveness means. This is a very good book it helped me appreciate living in a country were people are not sent to prison for following their heart.

Beautiful LEGO, by Mike Doyle

From Publishers Weekly

Legos have been a building block of childhoods around the world for decades (the Danish company, the Lego Group, was founded in 1949), but as graphic designer Doyle demonstrates in this impressive collection of 360 Lego models, they're far from child's play. The book showcases the work of 77 artists, who offer a wildly divergent results: from portraits of Freddie Mercury and the monsters from Alien to dissected frogs, space stations, and chromed-out hot rods. Though Doyle humbly waits until the middle of the book to showcase a few of his own sculptures, they are among the most striking. His stark black-and-white renderings of an elegant Victorian house damaged by an uprooted tree, as well as the book's cover (a massive futuristic city with countless spires) are nothing short of breathtaking. Brief bios of the creators accompany each entry, with the artists discussing what drew them to Lego bricks and their approach to design. One featured artist, Jordan Schwartz, may have achieved the ultimate goal: landing a job at Lego as a product designer due in part to his creations. Surprisingly, the book doesn't include specifications such as the dimensions of the pieces or the number of bricks used, nor are there images of works-in-progress. If readers can forgive that, they will be mesmerized by this astonishing collection. Full-color illus. (Nov.)

Beautiful LEGO is a book that fits its title to a tee. It is chock full of stunning and original art made completely from LEGO blocks. The book is done in full color on heavy paper stock and feels and looks high quality. It’s an excellent “coffee table book”. When people see the cover they will immediately want to look inside.Inside they will find hundreds of wonderful photos of LEGO sculptures that range in size from just a few bricks and a few inches high to complex life-sized sculptures containing thousands of bricks. The sculptures are very diverse and cover all sorts of subjects - from wildlife, to pop-culture characters, to architecture. Each sculpture is fascinating to look at, and to appreciate not only the overall appearance, but also the artists’ creative use of various LEGO bricks. As a child who would always follow the instructions, seeing the creative and wonderful things that people can do when they don’t, is inspiring and fun.As if the wonderful images weren’t enough there are also interviews with the artists scattered throughout the book that are very informative and enjoyable. All in all… it’s amazing what can be done with simple LEGO bricks.

This is a highly recommended Lego book for any builder or fan. For new builders, this will serve as a compilation of inspiring models at your fingertips, and for experienced builders, this is a perfect way to show friends what you do. A book like this doesn’t need words to explain itself, the creations will do all the talking and delight all who’s curious to open its covers. The variety of artists represented in this coffee table tome is impressive: ranging from those who have perfected Lego replication of the household mundane to those who create full-on mythical landscapes like Doyle himself. The one thing all these artists have in common is the keen ability to think outside the brick. If you’re feeling like you need some Lego inspiration to expand your horizons, this is definitely the book for you. Below is a small sampling of the artists and works Doyle showcases.

This was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter, the Lego-lover. Unfortunately, she opened it first. We almost couldn't get her to put it down and open the rest of her gifts. I wrapped it after just glancing at it, expecting to look at it further after she'd opened it, but could never find a time in the next four hours when she wasn't engrossed in it.Her mother says she falls asleep at night with the book. What a smashing success this one was.Since I only had the opportunity to look at a few pages I can't comment extensively on what's in the book. You'll have to take my granddaughter's word for it..."Awesome!"

Lego in the mind of adults...fascinating. Bought this as a Christmas present for my young adult son. It was a tradition every Christmas from the time he was about 4 that he would receive one Lego kit to do on Christmas morning (a page at a time to slow down the "tearing through the presents" impulse). He still likes Legos, but as a graphic artist and cartoonist, I thought he might really enjoy seeing the creativity of others.

If not, there's something wrong with you!I have loved Lego's ever since I was 2 or 3 years old and now I'm about to turn 40! I just ordered this book as a gift for a contractor friends of mine who just finished a major remodel and I thought he deserved an awe inspiring coffee table book for his home.Hat's off to the contributors of this book! The pictures in this book are phenomenal and amazing! Such beautiful and mind blasting creations! I guarantee you will not want to put this book down!I want to go to my parents house and dig out my old Lego's that are in storage and build a masterpiece!

This is a well done Lego book. The creations featured are perfect examples of adult built models, as most (if not all) do not include any mini figured themed builds. It has a diverse collection of sculptural builds of everyday things, such as food, animals, and vehicles, as well as big and small architecture builds with themes ranging from realistic to pure imagination. The level of detail within the builds allows you to look over it again and again and pick up something new each time. And despite the variety of builds and inclusion of many different builders and styles, everything is cohesive and beautifully laid out. It's the perfect coffee table book, as both kids and adults will be wowed by the content.*I received a copy for review - all opinions are my own*

My son has been a Lego fan for roughly 40 years!! Even now he enjoys messing with them from time to time. This book enhanced his appreciation for the people who also work with Legos. The photography is phenomenal and the patience and work of the builders is nothing short of amazing. Great book to study. Several Christmas guests enjoyed looking at the creations during the holiday.

this book is well assembled with some amazing MOCs (My Own Creations). i was happy to see many of my favorite builders (and builds) included. .. and Mike Doyle's "Contact 1" blew me away. not sure how i missed that one.i recommend this to any AFOL.. great as a picture book and for inspiration

Both interesting and disturbing. Is the book more fact than fiction or more fiction than fact? Regardless the Words of Isaiah and the words of America's leaders, combined with some of our history seem more than coincidence and very disturbing.

My sister recommended this book to me, as we talked about the natural disasters if Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. I actually started reading it on September 11th, which made the events described in this book even more intense. I couldn't put it down, and just finished it the next morning. I hope to get more people to read it and take to heart the message here - that America must return to God. It is something I have been praying for for years, and especially in these last months. Our country has turned so far from God, that we are at each other's throats over politics and political correctness. We have lost sight of the God-given rights and ideals our country was founded upon. I pray that America returns to our Christian values before it is too late.

My son first introduced "The Harbinger" to me on you tube. This book follows that documentary very well with enough more in-depth insertions that I felt it worthwhile to read the book along with watching the program. I am reminded of the quote..."For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't believe, no explanation is possible." This is a fact-filled book. It is not fiction and not embellished. No need to give the stories away. No matter what you believe, about anything, give this book a try. Then pass it on.

When I saw that it was almost five star rated, I couldn't wait to read this novel, however, two chapters in I was sorry I started reading. I have never read such a repetitive book. Things were explained over and over and over again, just changing the wording. I read about half of the book and gave up. It was tedious to say the least to have things repeated so often. The subject matter was interesting, however the author interpreted events to fit his scenario. He definitely took poetic license with most of it. I can't understand how so many were so intrigued by this.

This could be an awesome book, but it becomes extremely frustrating very quickly. It is a work of fiction eerily portraying parallels between 9/11 and God's judgment and destruction on the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the Assyrians, A reporter is sent an ancient clay seal and meets a man who calls himself a prophet who says there are nine more seals, and each contains a prophetic message concerning America's future. The information is fascinating, but is wrapped in far too much wording.to be enjoyable. The reporter is told that he must discover the clues behind each seal and figure out the warnings that the seals represent. The "clues" the "prophet" gives to help the reporter are responses so obtuse that they would make a Zen Master proud, a combination of Zen and verbal circular logic. It doesn't take long before you want to reach into the book and choke straight answers out of the "prophet". I've tried reading it twice and both times didn't make it halfway through before becoming to irritated and frustrated to read any further. Maybe you'll have more patience than I.Don't get me wrong, it could be a 5-star book if the author didn't play so many mind-games with riddles and would cut the long, wordy explanations of the seals when the "prophet" explains them and their meanings. My opinion, though........

A dear friend was so excited about this book. She heard her son, a minister preach on it. Her reaction just surrounded me with hope that god loves us and wants only our faith and love following the path to his heart. This was so uplifting and explains so much regarding the end times. This book tells us what we need to be and do pass the message,. I love the way the writer put it in a narrative, easy to read and understand,we are one heartbeat away from judgement.

A fascinating read. I saw the Rabbi on Glenn Beck and the story was so compelling I had to get the book. The structure of the delivery is just a bit clunky but, the story overwhelms any shortcomings in the presentation. A great comparison of ancient to modern times. I've not moved on the The Mystery of the Shemitah. If you have any interest in biblical history and what's in store for us in the future, this is a MUST read.

Very insightful. Once I started down the path with Nouriel, I couldn't wait to see what would come next. I became immersed in the history unfolding and of the future of our nation. Drove home the idea I already had that America's number one problem was removing God from our lives. Extremely well written and gave me a lot to think about.

This is a great awaking to our nation and all the problems we are creating just like ancient iSREAL and it is a great book to read and start spreading this source to bring back our nation to a moral one. We once respected and honored what America was. People who remember what this nation was respectfuly spoke, lived and honored the foundation America was built on, will really enjoy this book. I belive what a person on TV said about God,..., we all carry money with God on it,,we say the pledge of alligence to the flag based on God, we sing a song asking for God to bless America etc. But do we really pay attention to the words we use. I'm old enough to remember 1st thing in the morning someone raised the American flag and was taught what the stripes and stars stood for . I married a US Marine who lost a brother in Viet Nam and signed up to serve theire and four other brothers who served there as well. These young men and many more male and females who remembered their nation as a nation with God always included. thank you for carring these books and many thanks to the author Jonathan Cahn
