Unimpressive. I had to use this for a class, or I wouldn't have spent the money.The exterior looks like a magazine or journal, making the casual observer think that the content is similarly up-to-date. For example, the chapter on data spends a couple pages vaguely describing the benefits a business may derive from relational database technology, such as scalability and performance, and gives an example of a website that received, on average, 7 million hits per day in its first year of operation. Admittedly, this is a business-oriented text, so my expectations for technical details were already low. But there was no similar discussion, not even a paragraph, of non-relational database technology, which is by no means new, but is used on sites doing more traffic per hour as the listed example got in a day. Facebook, SalesForce.com, eBay, Google, etc. -- why not spend a page talking about the information technology they find vital. Worse, the listed source for this information was the homepage of a news & commentary website, and a search on that site turned up nothing related to the claims made in the text.Another frustration is that the author's unjustified biases sit alongside actual information with no clear distinction. The discussion of the systems development lifecycle explains the waterfall methodology in depth, closing with "[it] no longer serves as an adequate systems development methodology in most cases" and touts agile methodology as an alternative. But then the text sweeps through RAD, XP, RUP, and scrum with no case studies or examples showing actual improvement, and fails entirely to mention problems that organizations have had either during the transition to agile methods or after some time using them. Clearly this is not an objective presentation, but will the business-oriented students who go on to become MIS managers realize this without having had the chance to experience the pitfalls and triumphs of both sorts of methodologies on their own? It would be great if the textbook for a information technology management course could spare them from having to learn by experience, but this will not be that textbook.In short, plenty of good information is available in this text, but for a balanced perspective, seek elsewhere.

I got an A in the class that required this textbook, but only because I seriously went the extra mile in my studying. This book was a tedious read because every chapter is only 20-25 pages long, but every chapter also introduced 50-80 vocab words. By the end of the book, it had introduced about 700+ vocab words, some of them so briefly that they were explained with one sentence and then never again mentioned. The other issue is that there aren't any vocab lists at the end of the chapter so you have to carefully go through each page if you're trying to make a vocab list to review with. There were also many vocab terms in the book that didn't have a definition in the glossary and several typos throughout the book. I also used McGH connect with this book and that was also tedious. 100-120 review problems for each chapter and this still didn't seem to help you learn the terminology because there was so much vocab that most of the terms were still only reviewed with one question.

E-Book was exactly what I needed for my CIS course, it was accessible on all of my devices and the tools in kindle really allow you to take incredible notes and make flash cards! Ctrl+F is useable in it, very helpful. Also, the book itself is a great read, I learned a lot!

It never ceases to amaze me the price for college textbooks. This book only has about 250 pages and it costs over $50.00! Really! As for the content, it works with my class and was required reading.This book looks like a large magazine. Even the pages are magazine weight and type. At first I thought I ordered the wrong book because it doesn't look like the typical textbook.

Required text for an IS class. Pretty light read for a text book though. Almost like a trade magazine.

If only it would have had the access code that I needed for my class. Sadly I will have to return it. Best to buy this book somewhere else if you need an access code.

This book, written with his wife, Jonna is another great opportunity for Ben Affleck to bring Tony Mendez to the big screen. It is so easy, amid scandal and disappointment to forget that there are people risking their lives every day to keep America safe from her enemies, both foreign and domestic. This book recounts how, in the midst of a major mole in the fabric of the Clandestine Services, Tony Mendez and his able and talented crew rescued a high ranking Soviet officer and his wife and child from the oppression and prosecution facing them in the Soviet Union. It's a real spy tale that is brilliant, exciting and a true page turner!

Spy Dust is a terrific source of tradecraft, for readers who want to know how accurate spy novels are. The book delivers on content, but not on narrative. The writing is trite, the author’s coy and self-involved, and except for the final escapade, the tale is wooden and stale.

This book does not discuss ARGO, which Tony figured in. A little more on their role during the Ames-Hansen era would interesting -- it's covered but missing the big picture. The book makes one wonder why so few of our agents were exfiltrated -- GTSPHERE for example. It's thought provoking on that count. You'll wonder about both the CIA and the FBI when you read about Howard's easy get away.

Real glimpse into the Cold War and sacrifices of intelligence officers and assets. Good quick read for any history of spy enthusiast

If you saw the details of this story in a movie, you’d roll your eyes at many points in disbelief. But unlike fiction, the lives of real people were on the line. High-tech spyware, disguises, body-switches, highly orchestrated break-ins and escapes, and all of it true. I couldn’t put this book down.

Tony Mendez is an excellent writer. Oftentimes spy books can be rather dry; however, Mendez manages to keep it interesting while still being informative. Like all books about secret organizations, there could be more details, but due to the required secrecy sometimes details can't be included. If you like this book you should read master of disguise. Highly recommend.

I really liked this book. It builds the suspense and intrigue of CIA operations well and gives the ins & outs of planning and running several highly sensitive and dangerous field ops. I would have given it a 5 except there was too much emphasis on the Tony and Jonna story rather than the cloak and dagger. Nonetheless. I still do recommend it highly!

Great and VERY interesting book by the real Tony Mendez and his current wife, both former CIA agents. (He of "Argo" fame.)

I'm in OT school right now and this is our bible for interventions concerning physical dysfunction. I know in a beautiful world without production quotas we would all look up meta-analysis studies before working with each patient, but this give you a quick run down of the most important things to do, look for, and not do. I will be buying the revised edition whenever it comes out.

It could be broken down into volumes, this book is so big! It will literally crush you when trying to read before bed. That being said - it has so much information in it. You have to buy this one guys, it's a must have.

Great for those who may be current OT/OTA students and may be going into physical disabilities placements. This was a required text for one course but ended up being a useful resource for multiple courses as well as a prep for my first level 2 fieldwork assignment. I definitely feel this will be a good tool to reference through the rest of my program and even after graduation.

This little book was the most useful one we used in our recent trip to RMNP! We had more comprehensive guides that really weren't as useful or as easy to use as this book. It lists all the must-see dayhikes, plus enough others to give you plenty of options. It is very descriptive and clear, and gives you a good reference. It also includes a section on best winter hikes. Its small size also makes it easy to take along with you in your pocket or pack.

I bought this in preparation for a 5 day trip to RMNP with my husband and 3 year old son. We wanted to pick a variety of hikes that we could do with our son, and this book fit the bill. The book tells you how to get to the trail head, what you will see in regards to scenery and what animal life you may view on the trail. It also provides the round trip distance and elevation change on the hike. Some pics would have been nice, but that's OK. The scenery in RMNP is so much more amazing in person. If you are looking for a book that tells you about every possible hike in the park or some of the more challenging summit hikes, you should look elsewhere. However, if you are visiting for a vacation and want to keep you hikes between 0.5 to 6 miles round trip, this book will provide several excellent options.

This was a most useful planning tool for our hiking adventure to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are so many trails available and it's hard to know where to begin so we sat down with this book, highlighted the descriptions that appealed most to us, narrowed it down to fit our schedule, hit the road and then donned our boots! We found the book to be quite accurate in its descriptions, and our only disappointment is that we didn't have more time to experience additional trails. We'll be back with this book in hand!

This book made a fine complement to other guidebooks and the all-important Rocky Mountain National Park Hiking Map. I used it to plan the trip, including where we stayed, with day hikes as a centerpiece of a 4-day weekend visit. This guide pointed us to the right vicinity and, often enough, the right trail -- though it is too selective and lacks a features key. The overview map is quite good.

The 'Best Easy Day Hikes' line of books are my go to series. They are perfect for planning hikes that kids can do and this book is no exception. We are planning a vacation to RMNP this summer and we will be going on several of these hikes.

Book gave excellent information on some of the best, shorter hikes in Rocky Mointain National Park. Used it to help figure out what trails we should try. Easily fits in a pocket.

Excellent for hikers who are hesitant to attempt longer hikes in the high altitude. Covers the basics (location, sights, etc.) very well. Compact size so you can carry it with you.

Good overview of several easy trails. I cross referenced it to other guides and they agree about half of the time. Looking forward to using it next week for an autumn holiday.
