I have read half the books in this series, and they are stand alone. As the author warns this story may have an impact on those you have or know someone who has been physically abused. It is talked about after the fact, and you are spared the actual event.Both our H/h have different demons to overcome and for different reasons. We discover the h's almost from the start and why she can't stand to be touched. Our H was so patient with her that you will take to him right away. But, the abuse that the H endured takes most of the story, like an onion being peeled away, bit by bit. You understand his reluctance in sharing the tail.Love blossoms slowly and they don't hold back when they realize their feelings. We have several villains and that kept the story moving for me. There are some secrets, but they don't last forever thankfully.My ONLY problem was towards the end with an old friend of the H's. I felt it was resolved way to quickly, but other than that I loved the story and the way the author pulls you into caring for this couple.There is lovemaking, very mildly described and not often, very tender because of what the h endured previously. We do get HEA, and no cliffhanger for our couple, but one of the secondary character's is left up in the air and her story is next. I have it on my wish list hoping it will go on sale. Not that this author's stories are not worth the price, they are, but I read to much to afford it. Love the Wish List capability on Amazon. There is no cheating either in this story.I am not going into the blurb, as many have explained it, just what you may get out of reading this amazing story. (ljb)

She cannot even abide the touch of a man. The way ahead will definitely not be easy.When a Warrior Woos a Lass is part of the MacLeod Saga, but is strong enough to stand alone. The hero and heroine are strong characters who have to deal with their personal demons as well as try to make a marriage neither of them wanted succeed. The secondary characters are familiar from previous stories. The plot keeps you reading to find out what will happen next. I recommend this one. It is a winner.
How I waited for Alex and Lena's story and Julie Jonhstone didn't disappoint.A forced marriage and a forced deception to help the King of Scotland.Alex is just a strong character and honorable man. Lena is a very strong woman and just whom Alex needs by his side.To see what these two people had to suffer at so young an age is interesting. How it made made them stronger is amazing. This is a must read even if you havr not read the first 5 books in the series. I definitely recommand the series but most importantly this book.Thank you Julie for a Wonderful story!!!!
