Five stars! I am at an “infant” beginner level to French and I found this book absolutely helpful. The few points I love are: 1. Short paragraphs accompanied with explanations for some words/phrases. This makes the studying process not too overwhelmed, I felt accomplished after each paragraph done. 2. There is a recap of the words/phrases at the end of each story so I can review/test my progress. This double reinforcement works nice with learning a language. 3. The topics are common daily situations, so you know, whatever you most see everyday, there is a French word for it in the book! 4. The AUDIO makes EVERYTHING better. Listening to what I just studied make things stick to my head much better. Plus I can listen to these on the go, very convenient.This is how I used this books: I read the recap at the end of each story first, then listen to the audio to see how much words I could tell, then study the detailed story.

I thought French: Short Stories for Beginners + Audio was a great book. I took French in High school and 2 semesters in college, and it was a refresher and very easy to follow.I wasn't sure that I would be able to follow after years of not reading french (and not really speaking a lot of it). But i found it extremely helpful that the glossary of words within each story assisted in translation.I think this book is great for someone who may need to learn french quickly, for conversational French, someone traveling to French speaking countries. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in French. It's easy to read and easy to follow the story lines. the MP3 version is VERY helpful in pronunciation. Many people find out hard to follow just the breakdown of words. they may grasp the concept, but be phonetically challenged. Hearing it spoken is a plus!

This book is a great way to learn French. I have studied French before but I learn best when I am fully immersed in a language. This was a great way to read stories and learn at the same time. It takes some studying and real thinking about the use of words and the order difference from English. But it is a very good way to perfect your French. I purchased the book French: Short Stories for Beginners + French Audio: Improve your reading and listening skills in French. Learn French with Stories (French Short Stories Book 1). I got the Kindle Edition. I love it! I took three years of French in High School. But, that was 15 years ago. I have retained some very basic knowledge of the language. I want to pick it up again. I thought this might be a good way to go. I was right. The book is made up of short stories making it interesting and easy to read even if you only have a few minutes at a time. Within the stories are bold print words and short phrases. After each paragraph, those words are listed with their translations. So, when I got stuck, I just peeked ahead to the list and could get moving again. At the end of the chapter there is a full list of the vocabulary for review. I was always better at reading French than listening to a conversation in French. The audiobook download (the instructions are at the end of the Kindle Edition book) is a terrific part of the book. You get the best of both worlds! After I brush up my reading skills, I can use it as an audiobook to improve pronunciation and conversational skills. At the end of the book there is contact information, if you should have any problems. They really have you covered! This is a fun learning tool. I just pop my Kindle in my bag and I am studying French on my lunch break and even while waiting in the doctor's office. I would highly recommend this book to anyone starting out or brushing up French language skills.

I bought this book not having studied the French language in almost ten years, and while I had lost most of the language over the years, this book benefited me very quickly. From the first story, I was picking up on words here and there, and by the end of it, I was thinking in French again without having to translate to English to understand. I'm struggling to find anything that I would do to improve this book because it even comes with easy access audio components to ensure that you're pronouncing and understanding the words you're reading correctly. Definitely worth it for anyone considering picking up a language, returning to French, or just a quick refresher.

I'd recommend this project to any and all beginners, but especially to those who are looking to try a different style of shawl if you've become too comfortable with a pattern you're more familiar with.

This is a beautiful pattern. I love pineapples but have never seen it in one big one, This is just what I wanted to have for a shawl for myself and for gifts. Thanks for sharing

I have so many projects going at one time it is hard to wait before attempting this one, but I know it will be the hit of hospice once I finish it.

I love reading about writing and the English language and this is one of the best on both subjects. I am an avid Rita Mae Brown fan though, so I may be a little prejudiced. I like everything she has written except those Sneeky Pie books. As a writer writing about writing, I'd say she knows what she's writing about.

My favorite part of this book is the author's suggested path of study in her Literary Conservatory chapter, which presents a four-year writer's curriculum (nothing like this was offered at any university at the time this book was published in the mid-1980's). To help writers study their craft, accompanying the writer's curriculum is a huge suggested reading list, meant to be read in order (from the oldest works of antiquity to newer works up until about 1980). I'd love to see the author expand on her idea of the Literary Conservatory and write a sequel to this book. It'd make a great independent study option for those who are unable to enroll in a formal college literary writing program, but who would still like to pursue a formal course of study designed just for hopeful would-be authors.

I'm a writer; the pages on the use of the English language are invaluable and are a 'must have' for the serious writer. The best part of this book are the technical skills it introduces. It's generally not for the average 'story' reader.

I always loved Rita Mae's fiction, but until I read this book did not realize the scope of her knowledge, the extent of her research and her marvelous capacity for teaching! She is truly an incredible writer and a very interesting person as well.

Rita Mae Brown puts words together like no one I ever knew. Even though this is a "manual" for writing, it reads so well. If you never plan to write a sentence as an author, read it because you write in your journal, letters to your mother whatever. It has helped me think differently about the way I write. And, it's just plain old enjoyable! The reading list in the back is a challenge but has encouraged me to move outside my comfort zone of what I read into different areas. I highly recommend this book.

I got the book sooner than expected in excellent condition, and I enjoyed it. The book is a view on what to do if you want to become a writer.

Considered the Book of Enoch is not included within the Holy Bible I am not sure it is completely accurate.The Secrets of the Book of Enoch says that the souls of animals will accuse a man on the judgment day if he had treated that animal badly.

A fascinating yet frightening look behind the scenes in heaven, it is a book handed down to Methusaleh by his father Enoch before the Flood and yes, angels could write and yes, Enoch was a scribe. It's intention is to be a warning to generations to come. It explains judgement on various generations and the form thereof as well as God's intolerance to sin and disobedience which started with the fall of Angels and their destiny. It explains situations we, as Christians, often ponder on. Here we find a lot of answers, and it is a shame that this book is not better known or read by God fearing Christians. I highly recommend it, very appropriate for these last days.

This book helped me to understand parts of the Bible that were sometimes unclear, and for me it brought a whole knew understanding to what was happening in the Old Testament and brought the New testament up to modern times and what is going on in the world today, but mostly it helped me to understand why there is so much hatred for GOD, Israel and America at this time.

This book isn't for everyone. It's for those seekers who know that there is more to the Bible than what is being taught. But if you're the kind of person who holds on to every word your pastor says as if it's law, then this book isn't for you.

This was one of the best books I have ever read! The book of Enoch was once loved and considered just as valid as any other book of the Bible. The era in which Enoch was given is the origin of many quotes given by the prophets, by Y'shua and his apostles as well that are found throughout scripture. It gives full explanation of the 'giants' (only slightly mentioned in Genesis and the origin of evil spirits, and further gives the history of fallen angels. The book of Enoch, the earliest in ancient times, yields more prophecy of any other book and takes you on a ride from his day, through the flood, to the Messiah and onward to the end of days...all in one book. And why was it taken out of circulation?...because when it was discovered it transgressed the doctrines of Jew and Gentile alike.

This appears to be a print on demand copy of the book on Enoch because the date of publish was about 3 days before I received it in the mail. There is no commentary. The book is littered with typos, missing or incorrect words and is horribly formatted with pages containing widows and orphans and verse numbers floating in the middle of paragraphs. Sentences end without periods, then continue on the next line... what a mess.The cover has a nice soft touch velvet feel, but the cover text looks like it was output on a dot matrix printer back in 1989.Pretty disappointed with this copy and I'm only keeping it because I intend to highlight and write notes all over it, so I really don't care that much about appearances.

I've read this book twice online but wanted one I could have in my hands. The cover is amazing; it's almost like suede leather and gives that antique look which is so appropriate. No serious Bible student should be without this amazing book. I've found literally dozens of verses that are directly quoted in new testament, not just the obvious two.

The Ancient of Days has fashioned a well-orchestrated creation. Everything from humans to angles to luminaries to animals have a purpose, a calling. But some in the creation choose not to prescribe to their appointed roles.Enoch is blessed and given beforehand knowledge of God’s plan for the redemption of His sheep and the punishment of the rebellious.This book is not an easy read. I searched outside sources to help me understand what was being described in some of the visions given. Words in some sections of the book have double meanings.

Sometimes I think they are a bit pricey for a book to make lists - though I do love to make lists! - but they are beautiful and I always finish and enjoy the process. 52 lists for togetherness is a journal for one person to use which explores mostly who the person is and how they relate and feel (within themselves emotionally) about others in their life, their family, and in their community. Secondarily it examines the relationships in the person’s life (the reality of the relationships) and it helps define and identify one’s ideals and goals for what they perceive are healthy thriving relationships they would desire in the future.Once this insight is gained, the hope is that the journaler will use this new seld-awareness to formulate some ways that they can make changes in their life now to work toward creating or deepening their relationships in a healthy manner to move toward their goals. These relationships include friends, romantic partners, family, and community members. The actions taken are up to you.The intention is to answer one journal prompt a week, taking a year to get through 52 journal prompts. These journal prompts range from very quick to something that may need some pondering and consideration. This journal ideally is for women aged 18-22-24 or maybe a bit older. I base this opinion on the types of prompts that are asked are some typical teenage questions such as listing role models for healthy relationships as seen in books and TV and movies to help them get an idea what they hope to have in their future. There is nothing in the book to indicate this is for women who are engaged or married, or have mother baby bonds. Although older people could use this journal, some of it may seem too immature.I say this is journal is for women due to the design of the journal, there is a lot of pink and girly pastel colors with pretty photographs, many with pastel colored filters and pretty hand drawn imagery: flowers, seashells, women baking cookies, hearts, colorful balloons, pink flamingos, disco balls, female hands, female jewelry, so on and so forth.A journal in this style is a low-pressure option, to choose to take a year to do 52 prompts. I think this could help an older teen get to know themselves better. Here are some examples of the prompts:List the things that make you feel loved and supported by others.List the spaces in people and social media that bring you joy and inspiration.List your childhood favorites meal, school subject, fear, best friend, toy etc.List the qualities you would like to have if you were a superhero or villain.There are a couple of prompts that reference past romantic relationships which are more appropriate for 18+ year olds.I feel journaling can be a useful tool foe insight and sometimes is fun, this journal is on the light and fun side. Although I realized after reading it that I am not the target audience for this journal I do think it is a great tool for the right audience and have no objections to any of the content. Rating 5 stars = Love It.

I like this book way more than I expected to. I have never been one who enjoys keeping a journal but I do enjoy making lists and reflecting on life and what I need to do to improve myself or my relationships so the format of this book is right up my alley and I enjoy the time spent working on the lists. With a journal it's just free-thought, but this gives me a direction. I have looked up the previous books too because they will make good gifts for a few friends and family members who I think would enjoy these too.

I love all of Moorea Seal's books, but this one is by far the most creative and inspiring yet! I received this and the accompanying 52 List Postcard set, and a Moorea Seal gold pen to match–– a really fantastic gift. I'm loving filling it out and have already gifted another copy to a friend.

During the work on my master thesis ("Learning in strategic games") i bought several books about the topic. This is the one of them. Chapters 1 and 2 (Introduction, Fictitious Play) are really good introduction into the subject. The following chapters evolve the theory further giving some good ideas for practical implementation (I was writing a C program which had to be able to play the game and to learn). I would recommend this book to anyone interested in relatively new field - Learning in games.

An excellent treatise on some important work in the theory of learning in games. Fudenberg and Levine provide a good coverage of standard myopic play dynamics with a special emphasis on ficticious play and replicator dynamics. I particularly liked the sections going through the Kandori, Mailath and Rob (1993) model as well as Young (1993) on the evolution of convention.The treatments of dynamic systems analysis, elementary game theory, stochastic approximation theory, etc., are necessarily short. The appendices do not suffice for a reader without a reasonable background.Nonetheless an essential read for anybody doing serious work in learning, or wanting to know what all the fuss is about.

This book does not provide valuable information about learning systems. It demonstrates, that nonlinear dynamics can be used to describe a subclass of learning. I personally doubt, that this subclass is of great interest, because it neglects completely heuristic strategies in game playing. Besides this, nonlinear dynamics is only useful if the number of parameter of the system is small. I doubt, that these toy examples are sufficient to describe reality, e.g., economics.Moreover, the organization of the book and the style it is written in, is in my view not favorable.I guess, this book is for a very small readership that does not have to worry about the correspondence of a model with nature. But also from this perspective it can not be recommended, because it is not written well. Both thumbs down!
