I haven't applied to Amazon myself, but having worked as a recruitment consultant, I definitely wish I had this book for when my candidates applied to Amazon. I have adopted a class that is now in First Grade. The school's motif this year is the butterfly, so I promptly ordered about 5 books on butterflies. I have to tell you that I ordered the Cat in the Hat book because I thought it would be cute. I didn't really expect much substance. I was WRONG!! The Cat in the Hat Butterfly Book was so AMAZING that I promptly ordered all 12 or so other books in the series like, "Is a Camel a Mammal?", etc. When I was growing up, the Cat in the Hat books were cute, but full of fluff. NOW the Cat in the Hat books are PACKED with information! I even learned a few things I didn't know!!! You will not go wrong with ANY of the Cat in the Hat books, but the Butterfly Book is simply brilliant! Excellent book for young children!

I bought this book for a 10 year old special needs child (her reading level is probably about that of a 5 or 6 year old). This was perfect for her. It is an excellent match for her reading level because most of the words are easy enough that she likes to read it to others, yet there are still many words for her to learn so we help her with those. She loves it when we read it to her too.I bought this book to accompany the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden (also bought from Amazon) for raising live butterflies from caterpillars. They really made the perfect pair (I even wrapped them together). I wanted her to be able to anticipate and recognize each stage as they go through their changes. She sure understands the stages now! This book takes you through each step of their life-cycle, plus gives many other fun facts about butterflies. It shows what several kinds of butterflies look like (including the Painted Lady Butterfly, which is what you get in the Butterfly Garden kit), and even discusses the fascinating migration of the Monarchs. Even I learned some things, and I was not expecting that!But the best thing about this book is that she loves it so much and it is encouraging her to read. Her mom is also impressed and now thinks she should get more Cat in the Hat books. What more could I ask for?

Gotta love Dr. Seuss - Read it to a class of 1st grade children - they all were totally interested and some type of interaction on each page.Loved it.

Cute book but not appropriate for under eight-It is lengthy and also goes into some detail about the length of time butterflies live-Not your typical Dr Suess book-

My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves the butterflies in this book and the rhyming keeps it really fun. It's very informative, but still Dr. Seussy enough to keep it entertaining. I was actually very impressed with how they got all the information into the rhyming format. Probably meant for older children, but my little girl likes all the pictures/drawings.

Used this book to teach the butterfly lifecycle! My first grades loved the book. The first half was all about the butterfly lifecycle, and the second half gave information about butterflies such as how they see, eat, and fly south. It even gives examples of different kinds of butterflies.

Super cute book. Well written wroth a ton of information. My 3 and 5 year old love this book and learned a lot. I ordered the butterfly santuary wit this. ... fun for the summer!

For Christmas, I made my granddaughter a quilt with butterflies all over it. I wanted to give her a book to go along with her quilt. This "My, Oh My -- A Butterfly" book was by far the best one I found. It was so interesting that I could not put the book down before reading the whole thing. It is a fun book for early elementary students.

This cookbook book showed up on my daily BookBub email for a couple of dollars (Kindle version), so I thought, what the heck? I'll get it. I am not sorry I did, except for all the extra calories I am now consuming. Not only does it have plenty of recipes for all kinds of cakes, it has other great information too. Perfect for making cakes with a child, as the recipes don't involve a lot of ingredients or use of a mixer. Perfect for seniors, too. Each recipe makes two mug cakes and uses ingredients even an occasional cook/baker would have on hand. It's the perfect way to satisfy a craving for cake without having tgo to the trouble of making a whole one. This cookbook would make a great gift.

Oh my goodness this is a dangerously delicious, fast and easy recipe book! These recipes are out of this world. Very easy and I stress easy to make. Bought this to make with my 8 year old and we have had fun trying new recipes. I enjoyed making these fun mug cakes so much I have purchased 3 more for friends as gifts. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants 1 or 2 mug cakes in a jiffy. What is really nice about these recipes is that you don't have an entire cake tempting you! ;) A single portion is perfect for us!

My oven does not get used when it's hot, no air conditioning, so if I bake, it's in the microwave. Love this cookbook, lots of good ideas. Recipes for small amounts, the pineapple upside down cake is one of the best, got the son- in-law and grandchildren vote. Love everything I've tried so far. I have the Kindle version and find it easy to use.

I was so excited about this book. I had no idea there were so many recipes that you could make in a mug! I have 4 boys and can now make a different recipe to match their moods. I am finding these mug cakes to be such a great after school snack option. I love that there are also options to make mug cakes for different dietary restrictions, like my youngest is lactose intolerant. If you want sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan, or low carb there are substitution guidelines for each. The boys love all the cakes that they have tried so far!*I received this ebook for free, however all opinions are 100% my own.

This book is awesome. My 10 year old and 3 year old made the Devil's Food Mug cake last night (with my help). It was so much fun and absolutely delicious. There's are tons of sweet and savory recipes in there. Most ingredients can be found in your pantry. There's aren't any expensive ingredients that are called for either. The ingredients for the most part are either in your pantry now or easily gotten At the local grocery store.I am so glad for this cookbook! With the clearly written how's and why's I can whip up a yummy treat without a whole lot of mess. Especially if I don't want to share!!I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really did try out some of the different mug cakes to form my opinion. This will remain on my Kindle.

Living alone, I was looking for recipes for meals. Although, I was in a hurry an saw 100 recipes and ordered this. One of the best features of this book is the trouble shooting sections that tell you why the mug overflowed, why it turned out dry, etc. I also liked the substitution section especially when it came to artificial sugars being defined. There are so many recipes, it will be fun to try a new one every day if you like cake. I like the mug books as they are just right for one or two people.

I love this book. It is just me and my hubby at home, all children grown and gone. This is an easy way to make a treat for us without making a huge cake that will either go bad or we feel we need to eat all at once. It helps me to keep from being tempted by goodies sitting around the house. Just enough work that often I will forego it and not ruin my diet, but if I am really craving something I can make it quickly too. It really saves the house from heating up in the summer using the oven. There are TONS of recipes in here, you wouldnt believe what you can make in a mug or a bowl.

Dr. Warren has taught classes at the University of Georgia, University of Iowa, Michigan State University, and University of Chicago. He has focused his teaching efforts on principles of accounting and auditing. Dr. Warren received his PhD from Michigan State University and his BBA and MA from the University of Iowa. During his career, Dr. Warren published numerous articles in professional journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accountancy, The CPA Journal, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory. Dr. Warren has served on numerous committees of the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He also has consulted with numerous companies and public accounting firms. His outside interests include handball, golf, skiing, backpacking, and fly-fishing.

Man, how I initially hated this course. However, the textbook is very clear and offers good examples. I also recommend signing up for the online component (as our instructor required) because the additional practice and reference materials are actually helpful. If you're need a textbook to teach yourself accounting or to teach others, I think you do a self-guided course with this book.Downside, it's freaking huge and quite heavy. Not bookbag friendly. There are versions that are sold as binder sheets so you could just take the evening's assigned chapters to class.

I used this book for 2 accounting classes and as a reference for 2 others. It's well laid out, though wordy at times, and provides clear examples to follow, though I think it helps to have some accounting background (like a basic college accounting class) to get the most out of it. In fact, I like this textbook so much I finally just bought a used copy. Since I don't perform all the duties of an accountant every day, I use this a reference and resource book. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs to a reference or a refresher for accounting practices (even my accounting professor keeps an extra copy in her business office for that purpose).

Great book! I am still in my managerial accounting class and find this book easy to guide students in understanding how important managerial accounting is in business. The supplemental guide WyleyPlus is highly recommended and compliments this book well! Will help students, who are not accounting experts, the guidance needed in understanding the course you are taking. Equations are easy to follow and there are tons of problems and examples to help a student through the chapters.

This was the textbook for my first-ever accounting class, and it surely did not disappoint. The chapters may be long and detailed, but they're easy to understand. There are plenty of charts and other visuals to help you understand the concepts more easily. And, there are plenty of exercises of all types at the end of each chapter, as well as exercise materials in the middle of chapters so you can instantly review and apply what you've just learned. The professor I had for my Principles of Accounting class was really great on his own, and this book was a great supplement, as reading the material independently helps me process it more easily.This is the Oakton Community College version of the book. I haven't seen other versions of this textbook before, so let me just summarize what the Oakton version looks like, in case it will work for you. The definitions for key terms are not at the end of the book, but rather at the end of every chapter. This book takes you on a journey through Managerial Accounting (which is substantially different from financial accounting). Noreen has crafted a book which shines from the ranks of other dusty texts.One would have a difficult time reviewing this text without the mind being drawn to other books on the same subject. By comparison, Managerial Accounting for Managers is a wholly interesting story which conveys its meaning by involving the reader. Other text books are simply left behind in a heap of dry and dusty factoids. While previous texts on the same subject have presented the facts of Managerial Accounting, Noreen, Brewer and Garrison have woven this same topical information into an exciting narrative.I could go on and on at whatever length desired about the positive aspects of this book. You will enjoy it immensely as it provides not only teaching, not only entertainment, but a transporting experience to a higher plane.

If you're looking at this as a student, you probably have no choice. You have to buy this book or something very similar to pass your class. This was very useful for our 5-day trip. I think there might be a few things that it doesn't have labeled, but it has all of the main attractions labeled very clearly. It looks basically brand new after being folded, unfolded, put in pockets and wallets and bags. It was well worth the money. Highly recommend even in our day of digital -- I would look on my phone and my husband would use the map and vise versa. Worked great!

Not as much level of detail as greentrailmaps, but enough to get around and is very convenient (pocketable), laminated and it's also much cheaper. Does not show dirt paths or distances or indicate bridges/arches, and doesn't name all the playgrounds (although it does show them). This is a good map to have for navigating your way around CP.

I love Central Park and this map lets me get more out of every visit. I wish more paths were shown but there are enough to keep you on track while keeping the map legible and an easy-to-carry size. Really handy that it marks locations of restrooms, park entrances, and streets and museums adjoining the park (except for Museo del Barrio being shown 1 block too far north as another reviewer pointed out). They should have shaded in the ball fields in the North Meadow and Great Lawn like Google Maps does.

Bought this for my teenager who loves Central Park, which is about 1800 miles away from where we live. Very well made map, clear, easy to read. My daughter loves it. It should last her a lifetime or two.

Found some information missing. We got a little lost and couldn't find where we were on the map. A bit more info re: playgrounds would have been helpful. It was compact and easily foldable to keep in a pocket.

Helped us on our grand adventure in Central Park. Liked the details. Purchased it because it's laminated, but the lamination should be run beyond the edges, so water cannot seep in between the layers.

Be sure to wear your glasses, this thing is SMALL! About the size of a half sheet of paper.

Recently visited NYC and toured Central Park. This "fit in your handbag" map was very handy while we were touring Central Park!

This book is misleading and blatantly ignores controversial parts of these women’s histories. The section on Margaret Sanger blatantly ignores the fact that she is controversial because she was racist. The book says she's a controversial figure but not why and misleads you to think it's because she was a pioneer in birth control because it was taboo at the time, not because she was an advocate for birth control and was big on eugenics and not wanting “lower races” to reproduce. The inaccuracy and misinformation of this page makes me question the historical accuracy of everyone else’s stories.It’s also largely white, cis, straight stories being told.

Full of beautiful artwork featuring 100 rule-breaking, precedent-setting women, this delightful volume is not only the perfect coffee table accent (all the pretty pictures!) but it's a brilliant and inspiring read to boot. The depictions are very stunning, and the write ups that accompany each illustration are jammed with useful tidbits of information. Who knew a history lesson could be so much fun?

I got a copy of this book while reviewing children's books for Women's History month.It's definitely not for young children (so deliciously bloody!), but I'll pull it down from the shelves once my boys are clsoer to 10-12ish (not sure, they're only preschoolers now). Most importantly - they MUST read books like this on influential women in history because how else are we going to break the glass ceiling if our son's aren't helping?I'm buying a copy for my mom for mother's day and asking for a copy of this for my birthday. I LOVE this book about kick-ass, name-taking, tough and ruthless women throughout history. Whenever anyone makes the old argument of why we don't feature more women in history because 'not enough women did anything imporant' - grab this nice heavy book and beat them soundly about the face and neck with it. And then behead them and seize their land, because THAT IS HOW BAD GIRLS DO.

This book is about bad girls. "Bad Girls” is an attractive title that would lure many readers - parents, girls, teachers, and several others. But looking at the fine print we find the title in contradiction to the content. The author, Ann Shen, does not mean “bad” in the sense of naughty or mischievous, but refers rather to those who challenge or disobey the rules or the social norms. She presents a list of 100 girls (women) of various backgrounds with a brief description of their achievements and how they overcame insurmountable problems to achieve their goals. These achievements span a broad spectrum of activities including art, science, politics, sports, music, legal issues as well as cultural problems.The author proudly points out that she interviewed or researched everyone on the list. The idea is to give the reader a synopsis of their background and career to whet the reader’s appetite so as to pursue the subject for further details, if interested. Many on the list of 100 are famous and familiar to most of us, like Joan of Arc, Catherine the Great, Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Margaret Thatcher, Martha Graham and several others.While it is enjoyable to refresh our memories about the famous women we already know, many of the others on the list are equally intriguing . For example, how many of us are familiar with Princess Khutulun (1260-1306). She was the great-great-granddaughter of Genghis Khan. She became a legend among the nomadic Mongol tribes as an undefeated wrestler of suitors who wanted to marry her. She bet with every suitor on 100 horses if they lost. Since no one was able to beat her she collected huge sums of money. She later rode into battle with her father, Khaidu, and they always won. Since she never lost, her tribe believed she was blessed by the heavens and was considered almost sacred.What prompts an author to write a book about the achievements of 100 famous women? If nothing else, perhaps at least to provide this book as a testimonial to the amazing things women have achieved throughout the centuries under insurmountable obstacles. We tend to forget the past; but there were times when women were not allowed to be teachers, professors, authors, athletes, doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, soldiers and many other professions. Marie Curie was denied a science teaching position at her home university in Poland because she was a woman. Jane Austen was reluctant to declare her name on her books because of her gender. Evidence is abundant. Today, more than ever before, women have access to almost everything. Is it an exaggeration to say they are spoiled for choice, just like men? But who deserves the gratitude other than those daring groups of women (and others like them) who courageously paved all the roads for them?FR Qubein Sept. 2017

I got this for a 9 year old thinking it would be perfect. I flipped through the pages and as everyone else has stated it is beautiful! However, I did not find it age appropriate. Firstly it would be a difficult read, its written eloquently. It has mild curse words (bada*s, pis*ed off). And despite being a very sex positive household I felt some of the themes were too much for 12 and younger (rape, abortion, multiple affairs/sexual relationships, using sex to manipulate) lastly some of the stories are just violent and mention dismemberment, torture, etc. As an adult, I think the book was fantastic, but I would not recommend it as a book for a child, if not for any other reason than it's written for an adult reading level.

Instead of the huge wide margins, it would have been nice if they had used a font in a readable size. It wasn't to save space that the print was so tiny because most of the stories did not cover the page allotted. Charming illustrations and a good variety of choices of "bad girls". It is too bad they did not do a better job formatting it.

This is a beautifully illustrated book that is great for anyone. It introduces inspiring, diverse women in a way that is accessible to most age groups.When reading this book, I found myself googling and further researching many of the women mentioned, I was that inspired! I already bought another copy for my girlfriend and she also loves it.
