I am obviously in the minority on this book. It was just ok for me. I didn't feel a connection to this couple at all. They are apart more than together. So trying to build romance and passion would be hard.There is lovemaking, outside of marriage and very mild in description - rated 2.5 out of 5.We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA and a short epilogue not far in the future. I can't improve on the blurb, just what you may expect reading it. (ljb)
Another winner. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The thing I really like about her books, is that it make you think you are part of the story. The storyline is great. I love her characters. I highly recommend this book.
Alexander is fighting for a cause with the rest of the Jacobites.But he is wounded. He is taken to the cottage of Prudence whois a healer. They are curious about each other and more thanthat they are calling in Love 💘.Prudence used to be a maid but was given a cottage of her own.No longer does she have to serve others. She is free to do andbecome who or what she chooses.I was very very into this book! I couldn't out it down! I just hadto know what happens next! It's absolutely interesting,awesome and very well written! The author outdid herself!Thumbs upðŸ‘to her!I highly recommend that you get this book! You will not bedisappointed, I expect you will definitely enjoy it just like Idid.
I loved this well written, easy to read, action packed stand alone story! The characters are well developed and sound like people one would like to know. There is a ton of action in this book and it starts out grabbing you right away and keeps you turning the pages to see what is going to be happening next to either Alexander or Prudence, the 2 main characters. Prudence is a healer and had been given her own cottage and plot of land after have been a ladies maid. Alexander is an Earl, but also the Captain of a group of men fighting for the Jacobite cause. They meet right away when one of Alexander's men is injured and they happen upon Prudence's cottage, which is a huge blessing in disguise as she is able to save that soldier. Read for yourself the assorted adventures they live through after that! Plenty of action and drama and of course romance! A very enjoyable read!
I have been a fan of Emilia Ferguson’s Medieval Scottish Romances since I read her first book. She is a talented writer and pens wonderful romances. In “The Highlander’s Healer†she blends a unique plot with romance, action and suspenseful drama. Prudence, an English ladies maid turned property owner/healer and Lord Alexander Lachlann, a Scottish Earl fighting for the cause come together under unusual and challenging circumstances and with the backdrop of war begin to form a romantic relationship. Their journey is filled danger and misgivings on Prudence’s part because of her station in life but to paraphrase the last two lines of the epilogue “Our hearts were made for nothing else except to love.†How they achieved that love makes for a well written storyline with a lot of substance that I found a most enjoyable read and I highly recommend.
Alexander was an Scottish Earl fighting the English to put Stewart on the throne and all he has on his mind is to made sure that he does his part and he is commanding a ragtag team of men and one was hurt in a skirmish. Alexander meets Prudence the healer and she helps the soldier while Alexander is discovered by the English and they have to leave but he takes Prudence with them. Their lives become entangled as she begins to nurse the injured and he goes off to another Fort and ends up back with Prudence she nurses him back to health and they happen to over hear a plan to kill some of their soldiers and the game is on. This is a very interesting historical romantic suspense with action and intrigue. Great characters. I was given an Advanced Review Copy of this book without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
Prudence, who was a ladies maid, has been given her freedom, land, a cottage, and money to live on. She grows herbs and is a healer. A wounded man came to her cottage. She went to work cleaning his wound. Alexander Lachlann saw it was the wounded man he had been looking for. He decided to stay at the cottage until he could take the man and leave. When English soldiers were spotted the three of them left in a hurry. Thus begins the love story of Prudence and Alexander. Do they even have a chance? This story is full of action, danger, suspense, intrigue, uncertainty, mystery, and romance. Battles are fought. Lives are changed forever. A very well thought out plot and very well written. It's a book I didn't want to put down. I just had to know what happened next. Get a copy, you'll be glad you did!
Prudence was a healer and wanted to help other people She got involved in the war between the Jacobite's and the Hanoverian's when a injured soldier ended up at her door. Alexander showed up looking for him and she told him he couldn't be moved Alexander insisted with the other side caught up with them. Alexander took the soldier and Prudence with him. How will this work out for Prudence and Alexander in the coming days? This is a good book and I would recommend it to anyone.
