BEAUTIFUL CALENDAR This is the fourth year I have bought a Chihuly weekly planner. I love the photos (which are all through the year - - not just a few photos, as some calendars have) and the fact that the photo pages are separate from the pages you write on. There is plenty of room to write on each day's space, with paper that is not too thin - - the pages are not fragile or see-through.

I've used this on my home office desk for about three years now. In addition to the many beautiful color photos of Chihuly's pieces, there is plenty of space for each day's notes & each weekly page (matte finish, also ideal) has the prior, current & next month calendars displayed. Before each new month begins, a full page monthly calendar is included. Blank lined pages for extra notes, the current & next year calendars & a pocket page are also included at the end of the book. Just a perfect desk calendar for me.

This beautiful planner exceeds all my expectations. Spiral bound with abundant pictures of gorgeous Chihuly art glass. I discovered Chihuly this year when a traveling exhibit was at a museum and I am mesmerized by it. Such talent and creativity--amazing! I plan to buy the Chihuly planner every year to enjoy the art every day!

This is okay but very preachy. I'm a Christian but thought this was just overdone on the preaching.

This book is fantastic. Could not put it down until I was finished. Well written, funny, exciting, an all around good read.

This is the second book (A Threat to Justice by Chuck Norris, Ken Abraham, Aaron Norris and Tim Grayem) published on the Justice Riders series. The first one introduces the Justice Riders group to readers as they went on their first mission. This novel begins with the group, Captain Ezra Justice, Nathaniel York, Reginald Bonesteel, Harry Whitecloud, Carlos and Roberto Hawkins, discussing their plans now that they have finished their last assignment. Each one has received their back pay and are about to ride their separate ways when Captain Justice receives a telegram from General Sherman requesting the Justice Riders come to Washington as soon as possible.The six men ride together on their trip to Washington but trouble seems to follow the group on the way to see General Sherman. Once they arrive in Washington they find out that the General wants them to become Federal Marshals and work as group to help restore law and order in our country after the Civil War. I never give away too much when reviewing novels because it spoils it for the reader.Even though you do not have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one; however, you can pick up both of the books in this series at a bargain price on Amazon. One final comment. The only complaint I have about this book is the same as I had on the first book. I think there are way too many religious references in both of these books.Rating: 4 Stars. This is a major upgrade on the first edition. I use SBL style occasionally as a copyeditor, and I wasn't aware there was a second edition until I encountered a job that required it. So I ordered the book and liked it--except for the price. But this has much more detail than the first edition, with nice cross-refs to the Chicago Manual of Style, and I'm hoping it will be a valuable reference tool for the next several years.

Good advice for the most part, but some of the suggestions on footnote/endnote and bibliographical entries are not user friendly to the educated, interested but non-specialist reader.

The book arrived as promised. The book cover did not appear to be new, but there were no wear inside the book.

As a copy editor who sometimes runs across questions in the field, I've found it a great resource. When I first received it (first edition), I thought there would be couple portions I could use. I am obviously in the minority on this book. It was just ok for me. I didn't feel a connection to this couple at all. They are apart more than together. So trying to build romance and passion would be hard.There is lovemaking, outside of marriage and very mild in description - rated 2.5 out of 5.We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA and a short epilogue not far in the future. I can't improve on the blurb, just what you may expect reading it. (ljb)

Another winner. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The thing I really like about her books, is that it make you think you are part of the story. The storyline is great. I love her characters. I highly recommend this book.

Alexander is fighting for a cause with the rest of the Jacobites.But he is wounded. He is taken to the cottage of Prudence whois a healer. They are curious about each other and more thanthat they are calling in Love 💘.Prudence used to be a maid but was given a cottage of her own.No longer does she have to serve others. She is free to do andbecome who or what she chooses.I was very very into this book! I couldn't out it down! I just hadto know what happens next! It's absolutely interesting,awesome and very well written! The author outdid herself!Thumbs up👍to her!I highly recommend that you get this book! You will not bedisappointed, I expect you will definitely enjoy it just like Idid.

I loved this well written, easy to read, action packed stand alone story! The characters are well developed and sound like people one would like to know. There is a ton of action in this book and it starts out grabbing you right away and keeps you turning the pages to see what is going to be happening next to either Alexander or Prudence, the 2 main characters. Prudence is a healer and had been given her own cottage and plot of land after have been a ladies maid. Alexander is an Earl, but also the Captain of a group of men fighting for the Jacobite cause. They meet right away when one of Alexander's men is injured and they happen upon Prudence's cottage, which is a huge blessing in disguise as she is able to save that soldier. Read for yourself the assorted adventures they live through after that! Plenty of action and drama and of course romance! A very enjoyable read!

I have been a fan of Emilia Ferguson’s Medieval Scottish Romances since I read her first book. She is a talented writer and pens wonderful romances. In “The Highlander’s Healer” she blends a unique plot with romance, action and suspenseful drama. Prudence, an English ladies maid turned property owner/healer and Lord Alexander Lachlann, a Scottish Earl fighting for the cause come together under unusual and challenging circumstances and with the backdrop of war begin to form a romantic relationship. Their journey is filled danger and misgivings on Prudence’s part because of her station in life but to paraphrase the last two lines of the epilogue “Our hearts were made for nothing else except to love.” How they achieved that love makes for a well written storyline with a lot of substance that I found a most enjoyable read and I highly recommend.

Alexander was an Scottish Earl fighting the English to put Stewart on the throne and all he has on his mind is to made sure that he does his part and he is commanding a ragtag team of men and one was hurt in a skirmish. Alexander meets Prudence the healer and she helps the soldier while Alexander is discovered by the English and they have to leave but he takes Prudence with them. Their lives become entangled as she begins to nurse the injured and he goes off to another Fort and ends up back with Prudence she nurses him back to health and they happen to over hear a plan to kill some of their soldiers and the game is on. This is a very interesting historical romantic suspense with action and intrigue. Great characters. I was given an Advanced Review Copy of this book without obligation. I am providing an honest review.

Prudence, who was a ladies maid, has been given her freedom, land, a cottage, and money to live on. She grows herbs and is a healer. A wounded man came to her cottage. She went to work cleaning his wound. Alexander Lachlann saw it was the wounded man he had been looking for. He decided to stay at the cottage until he could take the man and leave. When English soldiers were spotted the three of them left in a hurry. Thus begins the love story of Prudence and Alexander. Do they even have a chance? This story is full of action, danger, suspense, intrigue, uncertainty, mystery, and romance. Battles are fought. Lives are changed forever. A very well thought out plot and very well written. It's a book I didn't want to put down. I just had to know what happened next. Get a copy, you'll be glad you did!

Prudence was a healer and wanted to help other people She got involved in the war between the Jacobite's and the Hanoverian's when a injured soldier ended up at her door. Alexander showed up looking for him and she told him he couldn't be moved Alexander insisted with the other side caught up with them. Alexander took the soldier and Prudence with him. How will this work out for Prudence and Alexander in the coming days? This is a good book and I would recommend it to anyone.

For potential purchasers of this map who are also evaluating the Streetwise "laminated city center street map of Washington, DC", this map is exactly the same in size and content as one of the six double-sided panels in the other map, but foldable into one-third the size. One side of this map provides a map of the Metro subway in the Washington, DC area, and one side provides a map of the area south and east of George Washington University, south and west of Union Station (the train station with which you will want to connect via the Metro subway in the case you wish to travel via train outside of the Washington, DC area), and north of the Tidal Basin (although the Jefferson Memorial is off this map to the south). Generally speaking, if you are visiting Washington, DC for the first time to see the sites, the two maps provided here will be most of what you will need, although be aware that once you arrive at your destination you will likely be bombarded with maps from all sides. I purchased this map for my recent visit this past week because I wanted a pocket-sized map that I would be able to bring with me so as to not get lost on my daily runs, but unfortunately this map was useless in the Georgetown area slightly west of this map where I spent my morning runs, and after running the first couple mornings I found my way around rather easily. I used the other aforementioned map for the rest of my time in Washington, DC. Fits very well within the Amphipod running belt that I also recently purchased.

I needed a simple laminated map of DC's Metro (light rail) to navigate the city of Washington DC. DC is NOT an easy city to get around! You not only have to know street names but also if it is SE, NW, NE, or SW? It can be VERY confusing,This map CLEARLY shows what trains to take to which attractions. Whether you want to see the WWII memorial, the Vietnam Memorial or the Air-Space Museum at the Smithsonian this map will get you there. You won't need to be flipping through thick guide books or folding and unfolding detailed maps.A MUST for every visitor to our nation's capital!

Great! Have planned our trip around "the mall" in DC based on this map and metro stops.update 4/7/15 Just returned from our trip. This was the best purchase I have ever made for travel. Just ordered one for NYC subway system and for the greater Atlanta area. I will look for this map for every city I travel to. Made navigating the subway system a breeze. We rode the subway from springfield to DC metro EVERY day during our 5 day stay. We did not get lost once. My 17 year old son and my 8 year old son were able to navigate for us by the end of our trip. I highly recommend this product.

I don't personally need this for myself, but keep one in my pocket while shopping. It's inevitable that tourists will approach me asking which line goes where or where what store is where in the mall. When their English is not so easy to understand, it's simple enough to point them in a direction and give them this map... being that it only costs a buck or two.I have a bunch of Streetwise maps and have never had accuracy or quality issues with them. They are up to date and hold up well to every day wear and tear. The colors are always vivid and don't seem to fade, and they don't crease in such a way that makes it difficult to see. Awesome map!

I'm preparing to go to DC and generally get maps to aid my sight-seeing. It's tough to buy online because you don't get to 'hold' it in your hand before you purchase. This is small enough to fold, tri-fold, and put into your pocket. Washington DC being sooo packed with things to see it really overwhelms to see all the attactions on this map. And, Metro doesn't go everywhere in DC. I wanted to see the Metro in comparison to 'sights' and this does that. There is a map of the Metro on the back without the 'sights' and I intend to use this for counting the stops before I reach my desired jumping off spot. And, as I read the other reviews, this map only gives the heart of DC and not much of surrounding areas.

This map is great for a sight-seeing trip to DC. It shows all the buildings on the mall, plus some other government buildings you may want to go to (like the bureau of printing and engraving). The shapes and sometimes names of most building are shown on each block not on the mall. Our hotel was shown on the map, so it was easy to orient ourselves.There aren't many maps that show the metro lines/stops with streets superimposed. We were able to pinpoint where we were on the map and figure out if we should walk or take the metro and which metro stop was the closest to us.The only problem that I had was that the print was pretty small; I wasn't carrying around my reading glasses so I had to occasionally show the map to my son to read something to me.

For the first time in over fifty years, I spent more than a day in the District of Columbia last summer 2013.This map got a work out. I walked all over town, took the Metro across the river into Virginia and then through the Maryland suburbs.I visited my father's boyhood home on fashionable U Street and took unusual photos of the usual suspects. Beyond that, I even took the bus to Camden Yards in Baltimore for a night game, and returned to DC in the wee hours with this durable laminated Streetwise map in my pocket.

A great map-- small and sturdy. Ideal for carrying around in your pocket or backpack as you explore Washington, DC. It will stand up to months, if not years, of use. Especially good for walkers.Probably less good for drivers, who will find it too small to read easily while driving around and dodging other cars, tourist buses, bigwig motorcades, and distracted pedestrians.For cyclists, this is a decent, but limited, choice. It doesn't cover much of the city beyond the mall, and it does not include bike route information or bike paths, which are essential for getting around the greater DC area. For pedaling around the downtown area, however, it is great.
